Baby Head Gear

No, not the kind that straightens teenagers' teeth.

The decorative kind!  As in, decorative to your baby's head.

I LOVE baby hats.  I am obsessed with Etsy and handmade hats.  It's embarrassing how much time I've spent on there looking at them.  (It's also embarrassing that I just had to use the spell check to spell "embarrassing."  It has two r's!)  I even put like 10 of them on my Amazon baby registry because it was too hard to choose just one.  I still desperately want an owl hat and a lamb-ear hat.

My grandma has made her three hats, my mother-in-law made her two and I've gotten a ton at the thrift store for about a dollar a pop.  I've bought a few more here and there, too.  But she's already out-growing some of them!  Sigh.  I made her model a few she's about to out-grow for me, although she wasn't really in the mood so these pictures are pretty funny in-between-fussing faces.
I will miss this hat.  Italian-made merino wool!  It was $1!

Gigi (Great-Grandma) made this one.

"This is super lame, Mom."

This one won't even go down all the way!  She only wore it twice!  Thankfully it was only $1.

This isn't half of them.  Don't even get me started on headbands.

You will ridicule me for saying this but, I wish that I had started N on hate and headbands when she was teeny. I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I said that headbands were not for me but ... I might have lied a little. THEY ARE SO CUTE ON W and they make me want to turn back time and start over in the head accessory department.
