Titus Tuesday

I haven't done a "Titus Tuesday" post in awhile, but I'm back today to share about special women in my life.

I brought a little pants outfit of Sweet Pea's and a swatch of fabric to my mother-in-law on Saturday to see if she could work some sewing magic and make the outfit just a wee bit longer.  See, I'm pretty lucky.  I run to my mom for  help with all things decorative.  I run to my mother-in-law for all things sewing.  My mom can make any vegetable taste so good you'll want more instead of dessert and my mother-in-law can make any meat so tender you'll swear she slaved over it all day.  And don't even get me started on her gravies!  Then you add my grandmother to the mix, who can cook a meal for 20 on a dime or crochet a baby blanket with her eyes closed and basically I've got every teaching source for expert domesticity covered.  It's pretty awesome that I get to learn from such awesome ladies.

So in about 15 minutes flat, my mother-in-law transformed a too-small Janie and Jack thrift store find into a masterpiece.  A masterpiece we now call the "mermaid" pants, because when they are unsnapped they look like a giant mermaid tail, and with which the little one is completely enamored.  I had to hide them from her so she would stop begging to wear them!

I really want to learn to sew, and I think I know just who I'll be asking for help!

What about you?  Do you have special women in your life who help you learn about being a domestic goddess, or just teach you in general how to be awesome?

"Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives." Titus 2:3-5, The Message Translation

    1. Haha thank you! They were soooo easy to make! You could totally do it. She just hemmed the fabric on either side, then did a quick gather by hand to make the ruffle. Then she pinned the fabric on the end and sewed it flat. I basically want to make a pair for me ;)
