A Birthday Present for YOU (Giveaway)

In honor of Sweet Pea's first birthday, and all of the happy memories of her first year that I'm treasuring in my heart, we wanted to give a memory-making gift to one lucky reader.  I've been going crazy trying to whittle down my approximately one billion photos of her first year of life down to a reasonable number than can be used for a lovely scrapbook.  However, I've got a little problem.  I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm not a scrapbooker.

Don't get me wrong; I love scrapbooks.  I love flipping through the pages someone has lovingly created to chronicle a special event.  I love anything having to do with beautiful photos, especially when someone clearly adores the photos enough to spend time arranging them beautifully.  I just can't seem to make a scrapbook for myself.

My problem with scrapbooking is the mess.  I just personally can't be bothered with the cutting and gluing and (worse) the little left over snips of paper and the glue stuck to my table top.  I can't deal with needing a free space to lay out my work, and I have no idea how I'd find the time to finish it in one stretch, so it would need to be a surface that can stay messy for awhile.  Not.  Happening.

So, when MyMemories contacted me and asked me to review their scrapbooking software, I was skeptical.  I just didn't see this happening for me.  But, a firm believer in "don't knock it 'til you've tried it," I thought I'd give it a whirl.  And guess what?

I'm sold.

MyMemories is a pretty awesome tool for making scrapbooks and photo books (and many other projects) digitally.  If you've ever used a photo printing site to make something out of your photos, you'll have a pretty good idea of what you're getting with My Memories Suite, except this has way more options and ability for artistic freedom.  You initially purchase the software, then can purchase extra page sets as needed or download extra free ones. They have everything from simple (my taste) to extravagant, and everything can be put together digitally and printed.  The best part is, this all takes place on your computer screen, instead of a messy craft table!

I'm a computer-screen girl myself, and I like having all of the artistic freedom that this digital scrapbooking software allows.  For personal, family use in creating an album of your day-to-day snapshots, complete with journal space (and I do love me some journal space) this is a neat program.  It's straightforward, user-friendly and has lots of options.  For me, the collage templates are great and I like that I can easily make my own cards or calendars.  Or these cute drag-and-drop photo gift tags, as the case may be:
I mean, dang, a present with a photo gift tag of my baby?  The box could be
empty and Nana at least would still consider herself gifted.
Now for the good stuff.

MyMemories is giving away one free software download (a $40 value) to one lucky reader!

  1. What a neat site! I haven't even thought about digital scrapbooking...hmmm. Well I already follow you through Google Friend, I think:). But my favorite set is probably the "Nature's Canvas" I like some of the little components in that one!

  2. I like the cherished Wedding. though it may not be a set. I have had a ton of stuff from my wedding (over a year ago) in a box to be scrapbooked. It took me 2 years to make my sisters scrapbook for her wedding present

  3. This is so neat Taylor! :) Such a fun giveaway!

I really liked the Champagne Wedding and Perfect Day sets. I totally understand the vexation of scrapbooking. I've had all the paper elements that I need to do my wedding album and here we are a year later and it's not done yet :P It's so hard to find the space and blocks of time to commit to it!
