Dedicated

I realized that I completely missed posting about our sweet baby girl's big day a few weeks ago.
" But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from
whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you
wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. " 2 Timothy 3:14-15
A baby dedication isn't especially special.  As our pastor said, there's no "magic" in being "dedicated."  Yet to us, it was a precious day.  It was the day we stood before our church and held our little blessing and asked our congregation to love her and teach her, and we promised to raise her as best we could to love the Lord with every bit of her heart, soul, mind and strength.

We talked about what the dedication meant to us, then shared Zephaniah 3:17.

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

I love that verse for the obvious truth in it, but there is something about it that especially speaks to the heart of a little girl.  A little princess, protected by the Knight of Knights, adored by the King of Kings.  I loved the allegory in story where we got her name; a giant who adored and delighted in and protected a little girl at all costs, just because he loved her.

After we spoke our pastor invited folks to come up and circle around us to pray for our little girl.

It was lovely for us.  I've said before that I had no idea what a blessing it would be to me for other people to love my baby.  She will be blessed by all of those in her life who will speak truth to her and love her like Christ.
My dad loved that she fell asleep in his arms.

Sigh.  I love these beautiful girls.
Getting dedicated is hard work.  Especially when it's during nap time.
Our wonderful families and my best friend all came for the service, then came over to our house after for lunch.  It was so nice to have everyone together.

Family photo, sans Aunt T; thanks for taking the photo!

Sweet Pea always loves Groovy's handmade jewels!
Someone is more interested in the flowers than her cousins...that will change in no time.

It was a lovely day and will be special to us always!  Thank you so much for being there, family!
